Vocational Support Professional

This dynamic opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individuals attain personal goals and achieve their dreams. Employment is one of life's biggest milestones. The role of the Vocational Services Professional (VSP) is to deliver prevocational services to adults with I/DD who have expressed a desire to work and earn a paycheck. Vocational services not only provide individuals with opportunities to explore a variety of career paths and jobs, but also develop soft/hard skills that will prepare them for entering today's modern workforce. VSPs will have opportunities to work in a variety of settings both on and off campus, as well as network with our various community business partners.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
  • Must have a valid NYS driver's license
  • Preferred: 1 year+ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Starting rate: 16.25 an hour and commensurate with experience

Classroom Aide

Pathfinder School is seeking a classroom aide. The classroom aide provides direct instructional or residential support services to children individually and in small groups under the general supervision of the special education teacher during school hours, and to the house manager when working residentially. Classroom aides are a part of a team working to support children in their instructional and residential program. As such, they are expected to support and assist in the general operation of the classroom or house. The classroom aide supports students to become more independent in the areas of academics, communication, behavior management, pre-vocational training, and other areas of daily living skills.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.

Hourly rate starts at $16.50 and is commensurate with experience.

Program Office Administrative Assistant

Program Office Administrative Assistant

The Program Administrative Assistant is a detail-oriented organized professional who assists in supporting the residential department in clerical duties, maintaining program office operations, and serves as the agency’s transportation coordinator. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and auditing.

  • Pulling reports and maintaining updated, accurate documents for residential sites and transportation services. 

  • Coordinating a large fleet of vehicles to ensure community access to all individuals supported and other transportation coordination duties, including but not limited to teaching transportation policies to new hires, DOT inspections, scheduling vehicle maintenance etc..

  • Providing any other support to the Director of Residential Services as assigned.

The ideal candidate is a team player with strong organizational and multitasking skills, proficiency in office software, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, being flexible with daily assignments. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience

Hourly rate starts at $18 and is commensurate with experience.

House Manager

The House Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of their designated residential home under the supervision and direction of the Residential Team Leader. His/her management will ensure the safety, health, satisfaction, and well-being of residents.  The House Manager will also provide ongoing direct supervision for the Residential Staff within his/her team.

The House Manager is held to a high standard of conduct and professionalism and must represent the organization with the highest level of integrity.   

This position reports directly to the Residential Team Leader or Senior Director of Residential and Enrichment.

  • Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid NYS driver's license
  • 1 year+ of experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Preferred: Supervisory experience

Starting wage starts at $18.00 an hour and is commensurate with experience

Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher will provide direct instructional, evaluative, and supervisory services to all students to ensure the quality of classroom programs at the Pathfinder Village School in accordance with the Pathfinder Village mission “that each life may find meaning.”  The teacher will identify strengths and needs that will lead to a comprehensive individualized education program and promote independence, inclusion, individuality, productivity, and self-determination for students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plans a psycho-educational model of programs for each student; this includes the setting of objectives and goals, which reflect the student’s educational, emotional, and behavioral strengths and needs
  • Administers tests, writes reports, and completes all required documentation on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Formally reports to parents and home school districts, the child’s progress on an ongoing basis.
  • Supervises teacher assistants/aides who are responsible to him/her in assisting in the education of all students.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the students’ IEPs and all related services, goals and objectives listed on the IEP.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in special education preferred, bachelor's degree required
  • Certification as a special education teacher from NYSED
  • Valid NYS driver's license

Annual salary starts at $50,000 and is commensurate with experience.

Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Pathfinder Village presently has 12-hour shift openings for Direct Support Professionals. Primary responsibilities include providing direct care and residential guidance/supports for individuals living with intellectual and other disabilities within an open-access community setting. Additional duties involve advocating and supporting informed choices of individuals within the greater community. Strong record keeping skills, local travel, flexibility, and a commitment to ongoing job training are required.

3 - 4 day work week.

No prior work experience is required. 

Starting hourly rate ranges from $16.25 to $20.50 an hour, commensurate with experience. Overnight staff get an additional $3 an hour shift differential on top of their base rate when working an overnight shift.
