Aging Symposium
Together with the National Down Syndrome Society, The Kennedy Willis Center hosted the 2014 Symposium on Aging, Dementia and Intellectual Disabilities. Key Speakers included Acting Commissioner of the State Office for People With Intellectual Disabilities Laurie Kelley, author Rachel Adams, and the co-chairs of the National Task Group on Intellectual Disabilities and Dementia Practices of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD). An open panel discussion of leading experts included M. Janicki, PhD; Seth Keller, MD; Wayne Silverman, PhD; and Kathleen Bishop, PhD. Discussions focused on supporting aging individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease and was attended by numerous state and government entities, non-profit service providers, and caregivers across the country.
